Beginning again?
Reading the Bible Again for the First Time, Meeting Jesus Again for the First Time, The Heart of Christianity: Rediscovering a Life of Faith, titles of books by Marcus Borg, remind us that it is important to review and reevaluate what we think and what we can know about Jesus, who is the big question mark of history.
For people who have a bad taste in their mouth about Christianity, I mean if you are bitter about some of the teachings you are acquainted with, the book Living the Questions: The Wisdom of Progressive Christianity is worth reading.
In contrast I am also finding a little book, Finders Keepers, helpful to Christians who are wanting to share their understanding of a real relationship with Jesus and with God.
For people who are confused about the debates of when the Christian Scriptures were written and their validity, you will find Redating the New Testament by J.A.T. Robinson of interest.
For me, I find them all facinating, but most importantly, I want a real relationship with God.
How about you?
I think God is listening for your answer.
