When what you fear, happens…

When you what you fear, happens, can be pretty stressful and scary. Franny, a “wise child” and highly gifted young adult wonders what her true calling is. She embarks on an experiment called the Jesus prayer and promptly has a crying episode that seems so much like a nervous breakdown that her family is very concerned. Her brother Zooey helps her work through her inner conflicts. Then she is able to sleep like a baby. Franny has been affirmed in her chosen career that she had been about to abandon.

I just finished reading JD Salinger’s book, Franny and Zooey. The ending line says the “Fat Lady” is Jesus. As children, that lady is the one they had been urged to try to please.

A wise woman, Martha Beck, author of North Star, is introduced in the May 23–29, 2016, pp.50-55, Bloomberg Business Week article by Taffy Brodesser-Ahner. Beck says that you need to tear away fear and every other layer to figure out exactly what you wanted in the first place.

When what you fear, happens, and you are incapacitated, do not despair. There is hope. There are ways to overcome fear and do what you really want to do. At Eden’s Gate Whole Health and Well-Being was written to help you.

Here’s to your whole health and well-being!
